Montana Nonprofit Association (MNA) is seeking session proposals for our upcoming annual nonprofit conference. Do you have nonprofit expertise that you’d like to share? We invite you to submit a proposal! This year’s conference will begin with virtual sessions and an anticipated audience of 1,000, followed by an in-person event with 350 attendees. Nonprofit executives, staff, and board members will once more be welcomed at the flat Whole Organization rate to participate in the virtual event and can also send individuals to the in-person event for an additional cost for deeper learning and connection.

Conference Theme: Momentum

Momentum is a force that carries all of us. While it can be slow to build, once built, it’s hard to stop. This year’s conference invites us to reflect on how internal and external forces can help us get where we’re going faster, or how they can derail our efforts. While we can’t change the laws of physics, we can better identify the forces around us and learn how to redirect what we can control to build positive momentum – and impacts – for ourselves, our teams, and those we serve.

We hope to invite attendees to make momentum their force for good.

We are looking for presenters that deliver exciting, engaging, and content-rich sessions built on principles of nonprofit best practices and effective instruction for our in-person and virtual sessions.

We will have opportunities for both in-person and virtual presentations, with the bulk of our virtual conference this year taking place as pre-recorded short sessions. You can note your preference on your submission form.

What is the benefit of a pre-recorded session?

We know – you all want to be in person! But some topics lend themselves better to a shorter, pre-recorded session, and with your partnership, we are excited to build a video library this year to share with our statewide nonprofit staff, leaders, and volunteers. In this format, our audience can access learning when and where they need it most – which usually isn’t midday for 60 minutes in their office alone. Instead, smaller pre-recorded sessions released in early September and available through the end of 2025 will allow teams to learn together in digestible chunks when they need it most, enhancing retention and learning transfer. Our video library will also offer longer-term interactions through follow-up discussions and supplementary materials, building stronger connections between learners, content, and you!

The deadline for submitting your proposal is end of day Monday, June 30th, 2025. You may submit proposals HERE for breakout sessions. We are working to curate an exceptional experience for our attendees of all backgrounds and experience levels.

As a Conference presenter, you will:

  • Be compensated at $75-150/session for virtual sessions, $250-$450/session for in-person, dependent on length and purpose
  • Receive 1:1 support in developing your session outline for our audience.
  • Receive a complimentary virtual and/or in person conference registration (non-exchangeable).
  • Meet, network, and share your expertise with nonprofit professionals.
  • Have your name and business affiliation published in conference materials and on MNA’s conference website.

We are unable to provide attendee contact lists but the online platform allows you to see and interact with attendees directly.

Overview of Proposal Requirements

It is recommended that you complete your answers in another document before submitting through the online form. You may submit more than one proposal. After reading this entire proposal, if you have any questions about Montana Nonprofit Association’s 2025 Conference or this Request for Session Proposals, please contact Shelby Rogala at [email protected]. We cannot guarantee an ability to connect with MNA staff prior to submitting your proposal.

We encourage you to narrow your audience prior to submitting a proposal. While we know you can teach everyone, we have found that clearly identified audiences have a better chance of hitting the mark. That means considering whether your content is best suited for new leaders or veterans, small organizations or large, and clarifying learning objectives.
