Insurance
PayneWest is MNA's provider of Commercial and General Liability Insurance for our members. With PayneWest, we work to strengthen existing insurance programs and continue researching new business insurance programs to increase competition and provide specialized insurance opportunities for nonprofits.
Instead of paying the state unemployment tax, 501(c)(3) organizations can opt out and elect to reimburse the state (become a reimbursable entity) for validated claims paid to former employees. This often translates to savings of 40% to 60% of unemployment costs.
MNA offers both Comprehensive NML Insurance, which provides broad coverage and the ability to lock in rates for two years, and Small Organization NML Insurance coverage designed for organizations that have not had D&O coverage before.
Working in partnership with Montana State Fund and PayneWest Insurance, MNA is pleased to offer our members a workers’ compensation insurance program. All MNA nonprofit members are eligible for the program provided they meet minimum loss experience criteria. No additional premium is required to join.
Publications
MNA partners with Columbia Books/Association Trends each even-numbered year to provide free or discounted current wage and benefit data to Montana's nonprofit employers. The biennial Nonprofit Wage & Benefit Survey Report is one of MNA's most requested products.
PPNE details the widely-accepted standards and practices of nonprofits. The 36-page guide includes information on each of the 11 principles and a self-assessment booklet provides an effective evaluation and reflection tool for nonprofit professionals. The PPNE is available digitally at no cost to members. MNA members can also purchase a copy of the booklets for $10 (a 50% discount!).
Professional Development
Montana Nonprofit Association has partnered with the Nonprofit Help Center to bring Merit® Nonprofit Professional Development as well as the Nonprofit Board Member Basics course to our region. Merit® offers equitable access to quality professional development through its full-team, just-for-nonprofits immersive microlearning model, with 28 learning paths (and over 250 courses) that align with the Impact Capacity Assessment Tool and introduce key competencies from the Korn Ferry Institute’s Leadership Architect matrix.
