Course Description
As nonprofits, advocacy is one of our most powerful tools to advance our missions and strengthen communities. Nonprofits play a critical role in bridging the gap between policymakers and what is happening on the ground. This training series will cover the basics of nonprofit advocacy and lobbying, strategies for engaging state and federal policymakers, and practical actions organizations can take now to prepare for the next legislative session.
March 26 | Basics of Nonprofit advocacy and lobbying. Learn what is permissible, encouraged, and how to stay legal as you grow your advocacy work as a nonprofit.
April 2 | Building your advocacy plan. What strategies are impactful for making your voice heard? This session will explore a variety of tips and tactics for developing an advocacy plan.
April 9 | Engaging during a non-session year. Tips for building relationships with Congressional offices and what you can do in 2026 to prepare for the 2027 Legislative Session
