Course Description
An effective orientation and onboarding process can set board members up for success in the long run. Jumpstart your board orientation process by sending new board members, or any who could use it, to MNA’s Board Orientation Basics course this year. They’ll learn the basics all board members need to know, including their role as board members, legal responsibilities, and how to leverage their skills as community leaders to benefit your organization.
After this interactive 90 minute session, board members will be able to:
- Explain their three legal duties as board members
- Identify modes of governance
- Identify board vs staff roles and responsibilities
- Describe “red flag” board behaviors
- Share and leverage individual strengths as a board member for a successful term
Participation will provide access to the full recorded session along with supplementary mini-recordings to review as desired.
Course Schedule
Offered at two different times to meet the needs of volunteer leaders. Sign up for the session of your preference. Each attendee can choose to join the time that works best for them. Or register to view recordings at your leisure.
March 11th 5:00 – 6:30 PM MTN OR March 18th 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM MTN
